* No! Wait! I gotta go back and fix stuff!
No, I'm NOT obsessive, merely anal-retentive to the Nth degree.
I
would like to say that I have been an avid writer all my life, but
that would be a dirty lie. I write in fits and starts, I draw in
fits and starts. The only thing I do with any consistency is lose
sleep, and that's mostly because I'm laying there, at two in the
morning, creating storyboards in my head.
Okay, I guess that it's safe to say that I've been honing my English
grammar and syntax skills all my life. Only within the last few
years, though, have I felt that my work is of the could-be-published
quality. I am busy writing and illustrating a Science-Fiction comedy
epic; I have been busy writing and illustrating said epic for...
um... since, like, fourth grade. But it gets better every version!
I call the series' first book Pound Sand, which is a "go
jump in a lake" kind of nonsense, 'xcept the story is set in the
desert. It features small furry creatures and a Perfectly Normal
thirteen-year-old as co-conspirators, comic relief, and general
plot complication. There are bureaucrats to be rescued, not-comfy
chairs to be re-upholstered and flags to be captured. There's a
big hairy battle scene in which That-Warlord-Guy gets his tail whupped,
moral lessons with which to burden the thirteen-year-old, and an
insidious underlying plot perpetuated by a bunch of crack archaeologists.
Somewhere in here, they also plan to find the TV remote.
I am inspired by, but don't necessarily emulate, the following
authors: H.P. Lovecraft, Neil Gaiman, Harlan Ellison, Chris Claremont,
Margaret Weis, and Peter David. These are simply the ones I can
remember off the top of my head; there are, of course, elevendy-two
others. The comic relief is inspired by the antics of my younger
siblings and my junior high school's pet chinchilla.
I have, at some time in the past, written a short story or two
worth reading. I may write short stories again some time in the
future. Right now, though, I just want to get the Pound Sand
novel finished and published (ostensibly so that I can begin polishing
the rest of the series-- planned as fifteen books to date).
None of my stories are online at this time. I do, however, have
a nice, cozy spot in the Elfwood
art gallery, and I encourage you to visit and ply your hand
at being an art critic.

Books
As with many members of Noble Fusion, my book list changes with time
of day, weather, and what I ate for breakfast. Here's a sample:
- Conan, all permutations, especially the ones by Howard, De Camp
and Carter.
- Batman, all literary occurrences after 1990. Most noteworthy
is No Man's Land, comics and novel alike.
- Everything by H.P. Lovecraft, and most of that which deals with
the Cthulhu Mythos.
- Brian Lumley's Titus Crow series, which ALSO deals with the
Cthulhu Mythos.
- Hellboy by Mike Mingola.
- More Lovecraft references, and lots of mythology.
- Tolkien. Naturally.
- Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, manga graphic novel.
- McCaffrey's Dragonriders of Pern series.
- Short story anthologies of all sorts.
