Fiction/Fantasy and Horror Online Market Lists |
|
In the last year or so a great number of "market listings"
have become available online. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses--which
is why we include a wide variety here. Let this help you make decisions
about where to send your writing.
Spicy Green Iguana
http://www.spicygreeniguana.com/index2.html
SGI is run by writer/editor and college student Matt Hayes and
has expanded considerably since it started several years ago.. His
lists don't include response times with the listings, but he's working
on it. The site also carries reviews. Updated monthly as Matt gets
time.
Stef and Paula's List
http://home.att.net/~P.Fleming/Sfmarket.html
Very straightforward newsgroup-style list of speculative fiction
markets Includes response times, and is updated quarterly.
Tangent Online
http://www.tangentonline.com/
Tangent is a labor of love by our friend Dave Truesdale. It's
the ONLY magazine that reviews the short fiction markets regularly
(an ambitious undertaking!) and the online version has a great links
list. No one is closer to the market than Dave!
The Market List
http://www.marketlist.com/
An ambitious project by Chris Holliday to provide genre writers
of short fiction with a quick reference guide of current market
information. Is updated only sporadically, but has a searchable
index and a downloadable version you can put on your desktop.
The Write Market
http://www.writemarket.com/
Christopher Reynaga, another college student/writer/editor, has
put up the Write Market to serve as a resource for fellow writers.
His market listings are scattered, but often include guidelines
and notes about his personal experiences submitting to them.
