More Than You'd Ever Want To Know...
Who Am I?
That's a good question. Somedays I'm a geek goddess. Somedays
I'm a dabbler. Somedays, I'm just a TV junkie. I'm a Southern
girl with a dark streak. I used to be a Goth, a punk, a corporate
spin artist, and a world traveller. These days, I stay closer
to home, wear Birkenstocks, and nourish my inner Goth with crime
drama, bad SF/H movies, and heavy doses of cynicism.
The Art:
I work in watercolor, ink, chalk, charcoal, and digital photography.
I'm mostly self-taught, although I have taken classes. Art is
in my DNA, right next to the genes for blonde hair, arthritis,
and ADD. Dad was a photographer and commercial artist. Mom has
a degree in Art Education. Frankenstein all that into their experimental
child (I'm the oldest) and the rise of the machines, and you get
me -- a chimera of artist, writer, and geek. When the words won't
flow, the creative urges burst forth in images. Some are cute
and sweet. Some of them just ain't right.
The Day Job:
I've spent 20 years in marketing communications and public
relations for technology companies. My speciality is translating
technobabble into Plain English.
